Anthony Minghella RIP

British director Anthony Minghella, who won an Academy Award for 1996's The English Patient, has died. He was 54. A cause of death hasn't been announced, but it appears to have been sudden and unexpected. The English Patient won nine Oscars, including best director for Minghella, best picture and best supporting actress for Juliette Binoche. Minghella also directed 1999's The Talented Mr. Ripley and 2003's Cold Mountain. His last film, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, will air on British TV this week.
