Aparna Nancherla rates the excuses of less dependable comedians

Aparna Nancherla is a comedian who visited the Pick A Choice studio fresh off the release of her new comedy album, Just Putting It Out There. Aside from being a funny and thoughtful player of our game, Aparna was also quite punctual, which is more than can be said for a number of comics who failed to show up for their scheduled Pick A Choice tapings over the last couple of years. We’ve collected and anonymized some of their excuses, and amid her choice-picking, Aparna helps us assign Uber-style ratings to her colleagues’ lame alibis.

In each round of Pick A Choice, our guest draws two cards from a deck filled with famous names (both real and fictional) and one card from a deck of scenarios. Then it’s time for the guest to decide who they’d rather pick in the given scenario. For instance, would Martin O’Malley or Martin Mull be a better choice to find your missing TV remote?
