Apple decrees: Ye shall not throw virtual shoes at ex-presidents.

Since the introduction of the iTunes "App Store" last year, doodad-developers have gotten iPhone and iPod Touch owner to pony up a buck or two for virtual glasses of beer and fart-noise generators, but Apple won't let just any app go to market. They squashed a "You be the drug dealer!" game called Prohibition a few months back (only to approve it once the creator turned all the drugs into candy), and now, according to the website Mashable, they've said no to a game that would allow the iPod crowd to fling footwear at President Bush. The reason? “Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple’s reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod touch users.” So at present on iTunes you can buy any number of songs or videos that rage against the recently excused administration, but when it comes to games, forget it. Those shall remain uncontroversial and unobjectionable. (That is, unless you've got something against farting.)
