Arcade Fire channels its inner ABBA in new single “Everything Now”

Earlier this week, we investigated how Arcade Fire appeared to have been building anticipation for something using a Russian website with a video titled “everything now content two.” Now evidence of an actual song titled “Everything Now” has emerged, so basically that was a whole lot of confusion for what was simply new music.

The track first came to us via a video of someone playing a 12” at what Pitchfork identifies as a Barcelona record store while two guys talked over it. That’s presumably due to the fact that the band is playing the Primavera Sound Festival in that city this weekend. Now, an official version of the song has been released, with no extra chatter over the music and a surreal video to boot. All in all, the song itself is a dance tune that has shades of ABBA. What’s not to like?
