Arcade Fire covered Boyz II Men in Philadelphia
Much like their arena show counterpart Taylor Swift, Arcade Fire has been knocking out a locals-friendly cover at every stop of its ongoing tour. The group covered Prince in Minneapolis, Stevie Wonder near Detroit, but it saved its A-game for last night’s show in Philadelphia, where Win Butler and crew tackled Boyz II Men’s “Motownphilly.” The footage below is pretty grainy, but Butler (and brother Will, we think?) do the 1991 single justice, with Win’s voice really bringing the smooth and sultry to the choruses.
The band has upcoming shows in Houston, Austin, and Columbus, Ohio. So, covers of ZZ Top, Daniel Johnston, and… Rascal Flatts?
