Arcade Fire made a star-studded horror movie, as Arcade Fire does
Arcade Fire released a 21-minute horror movie this past Friday, just in time for Halloween. Festi is “a look back at the Arcade Fire summer festival tour, 2011,” and while it’s ostensibly supposed to be scary, really it’s just a star-studded excuse to mess with the band’s fanbase. Structured around band member Will Butler’s 27th birthday, Festi plays like Butler is soon to become a member of the “27 Club” alongside Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin, unless he figures out a way to avoid the rock star inevitable. James Murphy, Slash, Andrew Garfield, Fleet Foxes, The National, and Peter Gabriel all appear—as does the ghost of Jim Morrison.
