Archer (10 p.m., FXX): Moving to FXX isn’t the only radical change this animated comedy is undergoing. The eighth season of Adam Reed’s potty-mouthed spy comedy is subtitled “Dreamland,” and if you’ve seen any of the trailers, you know this won’t be just another year at the Figgis Agency. Sterling Archer was shot in last year’s finale, and this new narrative takes place in his comatose mind. It’s a riff on noir detective stories, set in an imaginary 1947 Los Angeles as imagined by Archer, and everyone plays a role, from the femme fatale to the corrupt police chief (played by Cyril, naturally). According to our pre-air review, there will be tough-talking dames, loudmouth gangsters, and the odd sex slavery storyline. Although, on Archer, nothing’s all that odd. Join William Hughes as he travels back in time for weekly reviews.
