Archer is moving to FXX for season 8
Much like how Sterling Archer and the gang moved out of their swanky New York office in favor of a swanky New York mansion, and then out of New York and to Los Angeles, FX’s Archer will soon be making a move of its own. According to a press release, the series will be switching from FX to FXX for its upcoming eighth season, confirming a rumor first mentioned at a New York Comic-Con panel in October. That panel also revealed that the new season will be set in 1947, with H. Jon Benjamin’s Archer now a hard-boiled detective, Aisha Tyler’s Lana a lounge singer, and the rest of those wacky assholes getting “mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles’ most powerful crime bosses.”
Archer’s eighth season still doesn’t a premiere date, but FXX has at least narrowed it down to “this spring.”
