Archers Of Loaf releasing new live double album, playing shows to celebrate
Archers Of Loaf fans got a rare treat in 2011 when the band re-formed to play a series of shows that accompanied the reissues of their albums. Now that two-night stand at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC is being turned into a double LP, to allow all those who couldn’t make it to one of those rare shows to experience the Archers live in all their distorted glory. Curse Of The Loaf, a limited edition vinyl pressing containing 24 live tracks from that weekend, is being released via Port Merchandise. Along with the 180 gram black vinyl, the package will include a DVD of What Did You Expect?, a concert documentary that includes in-depth interviews with the band members. There will also be a replica of the original concert poster designed by artist Paul Friedrich. Presales will begin the first week of June, and there are only 2,500 copies being pressed.
Also, if you’re lucky enough to live in D.C., Brooklyn, or Philadelphia, you can catch the band live in July for a few dates celebrating the release of the album. Hopefully these shows will again be a jumping-off point for further Archers insanity.
