The BBC is reporting that a series of mutilated stingrays have been found dead on Australia beaches, leading to concerns that fans of The Crocodile Hunter, accidentally killed by a stingray early last week, are catching the animals and cutting off their tails as a form of vengeance. A friend of Irwin's "condemned any revenge killings."
Let's all hope this doesn't turn into some Middle East-style endless cycle of retribution and recrimination. Can't we and the stingrays just get along?
