Armando Iannucci on how to make smart comedy in today’s political climate

Nowadays, there’s an abundance of comedy addressing politics, with basically every late-night show—or even the Will & Grace revival—taking shots at the president with varying degrees of success. Armando Iannucci, who created political comedies The Thick Of It and Veep, knows how to do it smartly. At the premiere of his new film, The Death Of Stalin, we spoke to him about making sharp comedy in today’s climate.
