Arnold Schwarzenegger shot down a cameo in The Predator
Despite the fact that he’s said he’s up to come back for another Batman movie (plus however many Terminator movies anyone feels inclined to make), Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it clear that there’s one franchise expansion he won’t be appearing in: Shane Black’s The Predator. Schwarzenegger—who’s busy promoting his latest, Aftermath—didn’t elaborate his reasons for passing on the role, telling Yahoo, “They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it—whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role.”
Scharzenegger starred in the original Predator, way back in 1987. It sounds like whatever part Black and company—who started filming on the franchise’s latest film back in February—offered was more of a cameo, rather than the meatier role Schwarzenegger seems to think the return of “Dutch” Schaefer would demand.
