Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in Taran Killam-directed action comedy

Taran Killam is easily the beefiest, most jacked-up muscleman to ever be a Saturday Night Live cast member, and now he’ll finally meet his match by appearing alongside similarly beefy muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger in an action comedy called Why We’re Killing Gunther. The project will be Killam’s directorial debut, and he wrote the script as well, suggesting that his brain and/or fingers are just as powerful as his huge, muscly arms. This comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which says the film will also star Cobie Smulders, Bobby Moynihan, Paul Brittain, Kumail Nanjiani, Randall Park, and Ryan Gaul.

The plot reportedly revolves around “a group of eccentric international assassins” who are sick of Gunther, “the world’s greatest hitman.” They decide to kill him, but their scheme “quickly turns into a series of embarrassing encounters as Gunther always appears one step ahead.” Schwarzenegger will most likely be playing Gunther, leaving all of the professional funny people to play the eccentric assassins.
