Arnold Schwarzenegger's new movies won't be affected by that whole "illegitimate child" thing, say the people making them

Amidst all the scandal surrounding Arnold Schwarzenegger and the revelation of his unnamed bastard love child, you may be wondering, “Has anyone already come up with the nickname, The Sperminator?” And the answer would be yes, lots of people, including the ladies at The View. But you may also be wondering whether Schwarzenegger’s tarnished public image will have any affect on his upcoming return to acting, and the answer—according to those engineering that comeback, anyway—would seem to be a resounding no.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Schwarzenegger’s upcoming Cry Macho producer Albert Ruddy called it “just another one of those things no one will remember,” comparing it to the Bill Clinton imbroglio that everyone has now totally forgotten. And although longtime publicist Michael Levine similarly reached back to the ’90s to call it “the most outrageous Hollywood scandal” since Woody Allen was caught with adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, it’s doubtful that anyone will be picking apart the upcoming Terminator reboot the same way they did, say, Husbands And Wives.

“But what about The Governator?” you may ask in that nosy, needling tone you’ve acquired lately, and indeed, you’d be onto something. After all, the animated children’s show is based on Schwarzenegger himself, and that early synopsis said that the cartoon would cast him as “a superhero living a double life” as he “creates a secret identity beneath his home—so secret that even his wife, Maria, and kids are unaware,” which sounds remarkably prescient now. And uncomfortable. Nevertheless, the show’s producers say The Governator will proceed exactly as planned, because “its lore is fictional and stands on its merits.” And let’s be honest for a minute: Aren’t you a whole lot more interested in seeing it now?
