Arrested Development returning for 17 episodes, according to Brian Grazer
It’s time to say “Annyong” to Arrested Development once again. On a recent episode of Grantland founder Bill Simmons’ podcast, film and TV producer Brian Grazer confirmed that the cult comedy hit will return, eventually, for 17 more episodes. “People are loyal to it, and we’re going to do another 17 episodes,” Grazer said.
Last August, Netflix made vague allusions to the continuation of the Bluth family’s story, with Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos telling USA Today, “It’s just a matter of when,” and Will Arnett making similarly promising assurances on Tonight Show. But Grazer’s words seem to be the most definitive confirmation of the show’s return. So taste the happy, Arrested Development fans: the Bluths are getting anustart once again with a fifth season which hopefully won’t be a huge mistake. But maybe save the celebratory chicken dance for when we finally get a release date.
You can see Grazer talk about it himself around the 24:28 mark below.
