Arrow’s Katrina Law joins CBS’ Training Day pilot
According to Deadline, Arrow’s Katrina Law is leaving the League Of Assassins to join a similarly controversial organization: the LAPD. Law has just been cast in CBS’ Training Day pilot, which will be a sequel/reboot of Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 film that takes place in the present day and focuses on an “idealistic young African-American police officer” and the “seasoned, morally ambiguous” white guy he’s partnered up with. As we’ve previously reported, professional white guy Bill Paxton will be playing the white guy, but the younger cop has yet to be cast. Law will be playing Detective Rebecca Lee, a woman who was rescued from human traffickers by Paxton’s character when she was a little kid, so she “looks up to him as the father she never had.” That’ll be a nice change of pace from Arrow, where she did have a father, but she hated him because he was a murderous psychopath with misogynist tendencies and a magical hot tub.
At this point, it’s unclear if the show will have any explicit connections to the movie, or if Paxton’s character will also have a magical hot tub.
