Ashley Hinshaw joins the cast of True Detective

Ashley Hinshaw has joined the ever-expanding cast list for the second season of HBO’s True Detective. Hinshaw’s television credits include True Blood and upcoming episodes of Agent Carter and Workaholics, and she can currently be seen in the quasi-found-footage fright flick The Pyramid.

According to Deadline, Hinshaw will play a “troubled starlet,” though it’s unclear how her character will cross paths with the law enforcement officials played by Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, and Rachel McAdams, the mobster portrayed by everyone’s favorite heavy, Vince Vaughn, or whoever Rick Springfield is supposed to be. The second season of True Detective is expected to premiere next summer—which still seems like a long wait, no matter where we are on time’s flat circle.
