Ashley Judd is the newest resident of Twin Peaks

We’ve (mostly) resigned ourselves to the fact that any updates on Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival series will be of the casting-announcement variety, which to date have included the return of several original residents—Kyle MacLachlan, Laura Dern, Sheryl Lee, and Sherilyn Fenn, among others—as well as new arrivals like Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Amanda Seyfried, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. We’ve accepted David Lynch’s spoiler-free mandate and are prepared to patiently wait for the revival’s premiere in early 2017, because let’s face it, we have no choice in the matter.

In the interim, we’ll have to make do with some more casting news: Deadline reports that Ashley Judd is the latest famous person to opt for relocation to Twin Peaks. There is of course no information on whom she’ll be playing; not even a hint at the character’s level of “pivotal-ness” compared to Seyfried’s role. The publication’s also learned that Warren Frost, father of series co-creator Mark Frost, will reprise his role as Doc Hayward in a cameo. And Jim Belushi, who’s coming off a respectable turn as a Yonkers mayor (yes, really) on HBO’s Show Me A Hero, will also reportedly appear in some capacity.
