Assassin’s Creed: Unity glitch leads to sudden onset of the French

No one expects the Reign Of Terror—especially not players of the most recent installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Multiple people have reported a glitch where non-playable characters (NPCs) will suddenly wander into a cut-scene like poorly directed extras in a film. YouTuber ZeroX03 Gaming found one particular instance of the glitch that results in some pretty jarring hilarity. During a cut scene between an assassin (possibly the titular one whose creed requires unification) and some politician, two men stumble into the scene and begin vigorously speaking in French while the main characters continue their conversation. The game is set during the French Revolution—hence why the lead characters all have effete British accents—so there are a lot of side characters and NPCs speaking French throughout the game.

Hopefully some DLC will soon be released that follows these Zelig-esque characters, stumbling into various scenes throughout video game history just to irately speak at Mega Man while he focuses on defeating some robot villain, or to mumble in 18th century French while Solid Snake attempts a stealth mission.
