Assorted new-season news: Office, Earl, Survivor, and some new stuff
Variety and Hollywood Reporter are reporting that networks have renewed the following shows for the 2007-08 season: At NBC, The Office, Heroes, My Name Is Earl, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; At CBS, Survivor gets two new seasons; At TNT, The Closer (which will start its third season this summer) gets its total planned run extended to seven seasons.
Variety's reporting on a few new things for the season, with a roundup of three networks' pilots, including Fox's The Rules For Starting Over, directed by Farrelly Brother Bobby. NBC has ordered a run of Thank God You're Here, an improv-comedy show that will feature Dave Foley and David Alan Grier. (It comes from the producers of American Idol, but nothing with Man-servant Hecubus in it can suck, right?)
