Astronaut Chris Hadfield’s rendition of “Space Oddity” (from space) is back online

Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield became an Internet sensation last year when a video of his eerie, affecting cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” performed aboard the International Space Station, went viral. But in May of this year, the official version of the video was removed from YouTube due to the expiration of Hadfield’s one-year rights agreement—though unofficial (read: mirror) versions created by fans of the original video never quite disappeared entirely. But after a couple of months of legal wrangling, helped along by Bowie’s unequivocal support of the cover, Hadfield has a new agreement with Bowie’s music publisher and the video can be posted legally for another two years.
