At least Justin Bieber’s adorable dog still has an Instagram account

These are uncertain, uneasy times for the world. Justin Bieber, the Canadian pop sensation who more than anyone has come to symbolize hope and optimism in an otherwise dreary new millennium, decided to break the hearts of his faithful followers recently when he left Instagram in a huff two weeks ago. The 22-year-old performer’s Twitter account is still intact, so he hasn’t gone full “Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now”-insane quite yet; but the Biebs’ Insta account is no more. Apparently, too many people were saying too many unkind things about Bieber’s 18-year-old squeeze, Sofia Richie, daughter of Lionel. Some of the vitriol might be the result of Bieber’s ongoing feud with Selena Gomez. So Bieber shut that shit down. This is what happens, people. Actions have consequences. Rather like Jesus Christ, only with better hair, more tattoos, and more defined abs, Bieber might return. Or he might not. It’s all speculative. The world can only wait and worry. Bieber’s timing on this thing could not have been worse, however. The entertainment dynamo had only recently acquired Todd, a Chow puppy described by Mashable’s Tricia Gilbride as “the fluffiest creature mankind has ever known.” Happily, someone has set up an Instagram account specifically for the dog. World, get ready to follow @toddthestud.

Right now, Todd’s account is a little sparse. It’s just the one post, really. But true believers are encouraged to keep watching that space for further developments. Alternately, they can just keep staring at that one, amazing picture of Todd. So far, that seems to be tiding fans over. The @toddthestud account already has over 16,600 followers, and that one post has garnered 12,500 likes. For those who want more of this amazing animal, some supposed videos of Todd have started popping up on YouTube. Their authenticity is questionable. Their cuteness factor is above reproach, however. Does it really matter that the human arm seen in the following clip doesn’t bear so much as a single tattoo?
