At long last, a teaser for the Absolutely Fabulous movie
It’s been 24 years since the premiere of Absolutely Fabulous, Jennifer Saunders’ beloved Britcom in which she and Joanna Lumley play two aging party girls trying desperately to keep the drug-and-alcohol-fueled good times rolling. And after five seasons, several one-off specials, and more than one farewell episode, the only place left for Edina and Patsy to turn is the big screen.
Rumors of an AbFab movie have been going on nearly as long as the show itself, and finally came to a head more than four years ago, when Saunders announced she was working on a script. After a long wait, we finally get our first glimpse—and it’s only a glimpse, as the teaser merely shows the self-destructive duo living it up on a yacht. But it’s more proof that the movie is finally happening, which is good news for fans who have been waiting for this for a long time. While the trailer only features Saunders and Lumley, the description confirms that the rest of the cast—Julia Sawalha as Edina’s uptight, long-suffering daughter Saffron, June Whitfield as her patient mother, and Jane Horrocks as empty-headed assistant Bubble—will all be returning as well.
