Aubrey Plaza, Donald Glover, Bill Hader, other funny people cast in The Hand Job

Bill Hader’s list of upcoming projects grows longer each day: Today it was announced that he is officially attached to The Hand Job, to be scripted and directed by Hader’s wife, Maggie Carey. The film stars Aubrey Plaza as a studious high school valedictorian who decides that she wants to have experiences with boys before she goes off to college, so she makes a bullet list of everything she needs to do—stuff like “hand-job, titty-fuck, blowjob, fingering”—then checks them off one by one.

Starring along with Hader and Plaza are some of the hippest comedians and actors around: Andy Samberg, Donald Glover, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Alia Shawkat,Mae Whitman, Johnny Simmons, Scott Porter, Connie Britton, D.C. Pierson, and Onion News Network writer Dominic Dierkes. Variety has the breakdown of who’s playing what here, with casting still to come for the roles “Plaza’s gorgeous older sister and her intimidating father, a conservative judge.” The 2009 Black Listed script was made specifically with Plaza’s deadpan sensibilities in mind, and according to Hader, “killed during a reading at the Austin Film Festival.” [I was there. It did.—Sean.]
