AVC News: Our fest is basically sold out; our first film contest deadline is looming

The A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party, which will take place September 14-15 outside the Hideout in beautiful Chicago, Illinois, is damn near sold out. Two-day passes are completely gone, as are single-day passes for Saturday (the day that Wilco will headline). There are a very limited number of single-day passes for Friday (headlined by Iron & Wine and Glen Hansard) left. Here's a direct link to tickets, get 'em before they're gone.

In other A.V. Club news, the first submission period for Parameter, our short-film competition, is drawing close. Entries are due August 10 at midnight central time. We've gotten some really good ones so far, but not a ton—remember, we'll pick at least one quarterfinalist from each submission period, so it would behoove you to enter during this period! Starting August 16, we'll post some of the entries.
