Average, unknown, completely unremarkable you could star in Todd Phillips' next comedy
Are you 18-years-old—or can you convincingly play 18-years-old by movie standards—and do you have any interest in starring in the next Todd Phillips “raunchy comedy” that will, for some reason, be considered much funnier than it actually is, perhaps because the bar is just that low for studio comedies? Then get over to ProjectXCastingCall.com, where The Hangover director is holding an open audition for “unknown actors/real people of all ethnicities” to star in the Warner Bros. ensemble comedy he’s producing, to be helmed by British commercial director Nima Nourizadeh. From there, interested applicants can then submit a videotaped audition of themselves doing one of these five things:
• Tell us your most embarrassing story
• Tell us your craziest party story.
• Tell us about the riskiest or most daring thing you've ever done.
• If you wanted to impress someone at a club, show us how you would dance.
• Show us the one thing that you do that makes your friends laugh.
Those who totally threw up on a stripper this one time, bro, and/or dance with a verve that’s in reverse proportion to how fat/white they are may then be selected to play the lead in Project X—which is a deliberately opaque working title only, and regrettably, not an update of that hilarious ’80s Matthew Broderick comedy about electrocuting monkeys. Impress Phillips and who knows? Perhaps you could be the next DJ Qualls.
