Just a few days after production was shut down on ABC’s The Bachelor spin-off Bachelor In Paradise due to alleged sexual misconduct on the set—and alleged negligence from crew members who failed to stop a sexual encounter between two cast members when it was clear that one was too drunk to give consent—one of those cast members, Corinne Olympios, has publicly stepped forward with a statement released through her publicist. In it, she says:
I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened June 4. Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production.
As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality. As I pursue the details and facts surrounding that night and the immediate days after, I have retained a group of professionals to ensure that what happened on June 4 comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.
Olympios has also hired Marty Singer, a well-known Hollywood fixer described as the “pitbull lawyer” whose efforts have resulted in such legal victories as stopping the spread of various celebrities’ leaked nude photos, getting Warner Bros. to pay up after firing Charlie Sheen, and effectively keeping a lid on rumors about John Travolta’s sexuality. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has launched an internal investigation into the claims, and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production.
