The 21st century’s psychedelic revival has produced all kinds of notable bands, from The Black Angels to Thee Oh Sees. But predating them all is The Asteroid #4, which began stretching the fabric of spacetime in the late ’90s. The California-by-way-of Philadelphia outfit is set to release its latest, self-titled album later this fall. And if the throbbing, celestial “Back Of Your Mind,” which is being debuted here, is any indication, The Asteroid #4 is still locked into a cataclysmic collision course with your occipital lobe. Prepare to see shooting stars.
