Back To The Future’s power-lacing Nikes are now available, but you’ll never get them

Back To The Future Part II promised us many novelties for this second decade of the 21st century, but, until recently, the only ones science really made good on were flatscreen TVs, omnipresent drones, and Pepsi Perfect. However, we can now cross one more item off our list of things to complain about not having yet. See that one just below hoverboards and above Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactors? Power-lacing Nikes? Cross it off.

The Oregon-based athletic apparel manufacturer announced that the LED-lit, self-fastening sneakers are available in a limited-edition run starting today, according to Bleacher Report. Less than 100 are available for purchase, so if you want to make these a prize piece of your silly shoe collection, you’ll need to make a small charitable donation and enter The Draw for a chance to buy them. All proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
