Band member confirms, “Motörhead is over, of course”

In an unsurprising addendum to some sad musical news, members of heavy metal legend Motörhead have confirmed that the band will not survive the death of founder and frontman Lemmy. Talking to Sweden’s Expressen newspaper, drummer Mikkey Dee said that the “Ace Of Spades” rockers would not be continuing without their most iconic member.

“Motörhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motörhead,” Dee said of his long-time bandmate, who died yesterday of what’s being reported as “aggressive cancer.” Dee clarified that the group’s recently completed European tour would be its last, and that Bad Magic, released earlier this year, would likely be its final album. “We won’t be doing any more tours or anything,” Dee said. “And there won’t be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone.”
