How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.): Marshall tells his restless son three stories, in rhyme, to get him to bed. The first is called "Mosby At The Bat." The second, "Robin Takes The Cake." The third, "Barney Stinson, The Player-King Of New York City." Donna Bowman knows which story she's most interested in. (Hint: It's the one with cake.)

Adventure Time (Cartoon Network, 7 p.m.): Finn and Jake accompany Princess Bubblegum to the Desert Of Wonders. Oliver Sava hopes this is better than that time they went to the Desert Of Just Okay Things.
Regular Show (Cartoon Network, 7:30 p.m.): The dudes need to save Thanksgiving, obviously. Terry Crews guest-stars as Stettman, and Chord Overstreet as Dust B. Alasdair Wilkins stars as the punchline to this joke.
Almost Human (Fox, 8 p.m.): Our heroes have to deal with a hostage situation. Oddly, the episode is called "Are You Receiving?" Kevin McFarland doesn't know how to answer this question. Is he receiving? As usual, we just don't know.
Sleepy Hollow (Fox, 9 p.m.): There's a creepy thing hiding out in a colonial-era house in Sleepy Hollow. Zack Handlen wants to know what else is new. And also, where his one-way ticket to the space-time vortex in Sleepy Hollow is? Because hellooooo George Washington.
Mom (CBS, 9:30 p.m.): Baxter sets up camp in the driveway. In the driveway?! Is this a natural thing for Baxters to do? What are Baxters, anyway, and how can Todd VanDerWerff acquire one?
The Blacklist (NBC, 10 p.m.): In this first half of a two-part story, one of the worst guys on the blacklist infiltrates the FBI. As a result, Red's life is in danger and stuff. Also, Liz gets stuck in an elevator. An elevator!! Phil Dyess-Nugent isn't sure which plotline is going to be more riveting.
Hostages (CBS, 10 p.m.): Ellen discovers that someone else might be a potential bone marrow donor for Duncan's comatose wife, Nina. Which means that this whole assassination thing can go away! Turns out all of Hostages was just a public service announcement hoping that you'll become a marrow donor. Sonia Saraiya wants YOU to prevent presidential assassinations.
WHAT ELSE IS ON?
Steven Universe (Cartoon Network, 8 p.m.): Tonight: shapeshifting and saving the world (from a comet). Just like every other night, Pinky.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills (Bravo, 8 p.m.): Brandi and Kyle have a showdown over cocktails by the pool. Which means that… we're not sure if this is a repeat or a new episode?
The Voice (NBC, 9 p.m.): The live performances are down to the top eight. Our octagonal overlords demand sacrifice.
Lost Faces Of The Bible (National Geographic, 9 p.m.): A discovery of a 3,000-year-old skull helps a forensic team reconstruct the face of a Philistine lady. Who either might be Delilah or might look like Delilah. But hopefully isn't the Delilah from that Plain White T's song.
X-Men (AMC, 8 p.m.): It's time to admit that we are kind of into watching movies on AMC, even with the commercials, because they have cute little facts at the bottom that are like director's commentary but a little less invasive. We learned a lot about Ghost. Maybe too much, come to think of it.
Avatar (FX, 9:30 p.m.): Yeah, cut with commercials, this movie is 3.5 hours long! On the other hand, what else are you doing on a Monday night? Come for the blue aliens; stay for the inane dialogue.
Monday Night Football: 49ers At Redskins (ESPN, 8:25 p.m.): San Francisco goes to Washington, mostly to admonish the team for not changing their team name yet. Quarterback Colin Kaepernack is bringing a list of people whose feelings have been hurt. Gameplay will not start until the Redskins are crying.

Boardwalk Empire: The fourth season comes to a close with a powerful, dramatic episode, as Agent Knox puts his plan to bring down Nucky in motion. Genevieve Valentine has kept track of this season through blood and betrayal, and last night, she wrote a beautiful review of the finale.
