Beck, Sam Smith, ELO join this year’s Grammy performers
Beck, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, and the recently reunited ELO are set to perform at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards. They’ll join already confirmed performers like Madonna, Kanye West, Katy Perry, and Paul McCartney.
Continuing the Grammys’ recent “tradition” of pairing up artists that are only slightly disparate, Beck will perform with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, while Sam Smith will team up with Mary J. Blige. Country artist Brandy Clark will take the stage with Dwight Yoakam, and Sheeran will join Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, and The Roots’ Questlove along with ELO, although whether those performances will overlap is really anyone’s guess.
And lest anyone have to watch a broadcast network or actually leave their weirdly television-free homes to watch the Grammys, CBS is offering up a free live stream of the awards ceremony this weekend. The webcast comes courtesy of CBS’s subscription service All Access, which normally costs $5.99 per month. Users in 14 markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, and Baltimore, can cash in on a one-week free trial of the service, thus enabling the live streaming. Or you could just watch all the best and/or worst performances and speeches minutes later via Twitter, Tumblr, Buzzfeed, Google, Facebook, etc. Either or.
