But now those famous double-entendres about Alec Baldwin’s testicles have taken on new life as an ice cream, thanks to a guy at Ben & Jerry’s who’s hoping that fans of a decade-old SNL skit far outnumber the people who would automatically recoil from eating something named “Schweddy Balls.” Should those people relent and put Alec Baldwin’s balls in their mouth, they’ll discover that they’re loaded with rum and malt, covered in fudge, and dripping with vanilla cream that also carries a hint of rum, all of which sounds pretty authentic. Naturally, Baldwin himself was prompted for a statement:
For a long time, I thought that ‘Here Lies Pete Schweddy' would end up on my tombstone. Now, thanks to Ben & Jerry's, the goodness of the Schweddy family recipe won't go with me to the great beyond. It is immortalized here, right now, and it's an ice cream. Ben & Jerry's and Schweddy. Two great names in American dessert, together at last.
If you’re looking to get a cup of Schweddy Balls, you’ll only have three or four months to do so—though if the flavor proves popular, Schweddy Balls could stick. Ha ha. Balls.
