Touring and applying for colleges is usually a big deal in a young person’s life, but in movies, it’s often a bigger deal for the parents. That’s especially the case in this trailer for Mike White’s Brad’s Status, which stars Ben Stiller as some kind of loser who goes through an existential crisis while on a college trip with his son. The realization that his son is practically an adult isn’t the only thing that’s freaking out Stiller’s character, though, as he also has to contend with the fact that his own college friends are all much more successful than him, at least in terms of money and power. Who knows, maybe by the end of the film he’ll realize that having a son who is cool and smart is way better than money anyway.
Brad’s Status will be in theaters on September 15.
