Benedict Cumberbatch has dropped out of Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak
People who were looking forward to seeing Benedict Cumberbatch in every other movie coming out between now and 2016 will be disappointed to learn that the incredibly busy actor has dropped out of Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak. Although no official reason for his leaving the gothic horror film was given, it’s apparently not due to a scheduling conflict. Because presumably Benedict Cumberbatch—who can soon be seen in the third season of Sherlock, The Fifth Estate, 12 Years A Slave, August: Osage County, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, and is in preproduction on The Imitation Game— is not subject to such commonplace difficulties. No word yet on who will take his place alongside co-stars Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska (who replaced the similarly departed Emma Stone), and Charlie Hunnam, before shooting begins in January.
