Benicio Del Toro is in talks for Shane Black’s Predator reboot

Like a well-camouflaged hunter of some sort that is silently stalking its prey through a jungle, director Shane Black’s Predator reboot is still shrouded in secrecy. We know it’ll probably be called The Predator, we know it might feature Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and we know it might pull an Alien by showing the eponymous monster as little as possible. Now there’s another thing we might know about it, as Deadline is reporting that Benicio Del Toro is in talks to star in the film.

Of course, we don’t know anything about who he might be playing, which means Del Toro could end up taking the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Adrien Brody/Danny Glover role as “the one guy who can hold his own against a Predator,” or he could even be playing the Predator itself. The movie is supposed to be a reboot, after all, so maybe this ugly motherfucker looks like Benicio Del Toro when he takes off his helmet. He probably wouldn’t look too bad with dreadlocks and those crazy mandibles.

Whether Del Toro joins The Predator or not, he’ll get his chance to kill some people in the Sicario sequel and he’ll get to play a space person of some kind in Star Wars: Episode VIII, so we’ll see plenty of him either way.
