Beyoncé confirms what everyone already knows, admits she lip-synced at the inauguration

Beyoncé has admitted what everyone already knew: that she didn’t sing live at the Inauguration earlier this month. In a press conference touting her upcoming Super Bowl performance, the singer said she lip-synced because she’s “a perfectionist"—and also because of the weather, timing, and lack of a sound check. “It was about the President and the Inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud,” she said. “I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry, and I’m very proud of my performance.”

And yes, Beyoncé says she'll definitely be singing live during Sunday's halftime show. Then, just to prove it, she sang the whole National Anthem live, right then and there. Seriously. Take that, America.
