Beyoncé establishes Formation Scholars fund

It’s been just over a year since Beyoncé dropped Lemonade, her groundbreaking tribute to black women. And the Queen B wants to keep sharing that love with a scholarship fund that aims to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.” Complex reports that Beyoncé has established the Formation Scholars fund for the 2017-2018 school year. Four scholarships will be awarded, one per college, to either incoming or graduate students. Candidates must be enrolled “in creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies” at the Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, or Spelman College.
