Beyoncé to headline Glastonbury, annoy aging British rock stars

Some three years after Jay-Z headlined Glastonbury and pissed off Noel Gallagher, Beyoncé has been confirmed as this year’s closing-night headliner of England’s sprawling summer festival, signifying that the days of listening to Noel Gallagher are well and truly over. No other acts for the festival have been officially confirmed, although rumors abound that U2 will open the festival and The Sun recently reported that Beyoncé’s pals Coldplay were a lock for the Saturday night slot, which suggests there could be a reprise of the recent Beyoncé-Chris Martins New Year’s Eve duet. Maybe Jay-Z, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cee-Lo Green can turn this into a modern-day The Last Waltz and get together on a cover of “The Weight” or something.
