Bid farewell to Adventure Time with an ambitious, hour-long finale

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, September 3. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Adventure Time (Cartoon Network, 6 p.m.): The saga of Finn and Jake comes to an end tonight, as Adventure Time bids us all adieu with a four-part finale, collectively called “Come Along With Me.” As the malevolent Uncle Gumbald prepares to wrest control of Candy Kingdom from his niece, Princess Bubblegum, Finn and Jake attempt to keep the peace; the stakes, as they say, are high. Our own Kate Kulzick spoke with showrunner Adam Muto for TV Guide about the finale, and if that doesn’t get you excited for the conclusion of this most epic story, then perhaps the news that Oliver Sava will be on hand to cover it will.

Regular coverage

Better Call Saul (AMC, 9 p.m.)
Lodge 49 (AMC, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox, 8 p.m.): Sometimes it’s enough to just watch accomplished people do cool things to pretty music. If this is one of those times, the top four performers from this season of So You Think You Can Dance await you, and they’re sure to deliver at least one number that a bunch of people will share over and over again on social media this week.

If you prefer your dizzying feats of athleticism to come with big pools of water and ropes to climb and stuff, there’s also the second night of the Las Vegas finals of American Ninja Warrior (NBC, 8 p.m.). If you’re anything like us, both will be entertaining while simultaneously making you wish you’d gone to the gym today.
