CBS has announced that it’ll be picking up Big Brother—its long-running adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel about a dystopian future where everyone is a dumb, racist homophobe—for a 17th and 18th season. The program, a scathing piece of social commentary that imagines a world where people will do and say any stupid thing you want in order to be on TV and live in a nice-ish house for a while, continues to draw doubleplusgood ratings for the network after 14 years on the air. Human zookeeper Julie Chen will return to host the program, which may very well continue until the end of time, or at least until CBS is no longer at war with NBC. CBS has always been at war with NBC.
