Bill Murray invites fans to join him on the golf course
Bill Murray—who loves golf almost as much as he loves the Chicago Cubs, cracking wise, and appearing in urban legends that no one will ever believe, despite the fact that everybody secretly believes them—is offering up a chance for a couple of fans to hit the links with him. Murray is selling off a round of golf and lunch with himself to the lucky—i.e., rich—winner of this Charitybuzz auction, in order to provide funds for the Murray Bros. Foundation. The group, which was founded by Murray and his brothers, and which also runs the annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament, raises cash for “medical services, educational programs, lifesaving equipment, and fundraising opportunities to better the lives in communities across the country.”
Bidding for the charity package, which allows two people to golf with Murray on South Carolina’s Daniel Island Club, share a meal, and hypothetically recreate the “Bill Motherfucking Murray” scene from Coffee And Cigarettes, is currently up to $43,500. (Caddy and cart fees are included in that price.) The auction will run until February 22.
