Bill Murray raises the Bill Murray stakes by crashing couple’s engagement photos

In the not-too-distant future, children will whisper of a legendary figure who—if you cross your fingers, spin around in a circle three times, and say “Bill Murray Bill Murray BILL MURRAY”—will appear in your living room and help himself to whatever’s in your fridge. That’s where things seem to be heading for Bill Murray, anyway, as the actor continues to wander the earth and delight strangers simply by being Bill Murray. Now he’s even getting involved in people’s weddings, first by giving a speech at some guy’s bachelor party in Boston, and now by posing for engagement photos with a couple in Charleston, South Carolina.

Erik Rogers and Ashley Donald were in the process of commemorating one of the biggest, most potentially life-altering commitments two people can make, when photographer Raheel Gauba noticed that the couple seemed distracted. He’s what Gauba told Charleston’s Post And Courier:

I thought who the heck is bothering them…I turn around and it’s Bill Murray with his shirt up, belly out, tapping his belly and trying to make them laugh.

Realizing that he had the opportunity for an unforgettable photo (not to mention national publicity), Gauba asked Murray if he wanted to be in the picture. Murray said yes, of course. As Gauba recalls, “I took the shot and off he goes,” back into the wild to bring random delight to more strangers.
