BitTorrent launches legit sales

BitTorrent, long one of the best services for enthusiasts of huge, pirated files, launched its delayed online store over the weekend, and, according to Variety, it will sell and/or rent legit movies, TV shows, and videogames from such providers as MTV, Paramount, MGM, and Lionsgate. It claims to have 10,000 titles, which may make it a strong competitor to iTunes, which just recently landed a deal to sell part of IFC's catalog, on top of previous deals with Disney, Lionsgate, MTV, and Paramount. One catch, though, is that for now BitTorrent is offering only rentals of films, not permanent downloads.
