Black Hole, The Boys to hit the big screen

Two very distinctly disturbing comic books–Charles Burns' Black Hole and Garth Ennis' The Boys–are coming to the big screen. According to Variety, Burns' stark, surreal, Cronenberg-esque graphic novel will be adapted by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman–and better yet, directed by David "Zodiac" Fincher. The film version of Ennis' ongoing series The Boys–which, with its violent and sexually explicit deconstruction of the superhero genre seems aimed at riding the coattails of Zack Snyder's upcoming Watchmen–is being produced by Neal H. Moritz, one of the geniuses (sorry, "genii" looks ridiculous) who brought us Evan Almighty and Click. Ennis' iconoclastic masterpiece Preacher is currently being produced as a series for HBO.
