Blast into the recent past with the The Daily Show’s family tree of correspondents
Jon Stewart’s tenure at The Daily Show is winding down, and the victory lap leading up to this Thursday has been harmonious (mostly). While coverage of the program over the past days, weeks, and months has been centered on appreciating what Stewart built out of the show, the contributions of The Daily Show’s team of correspondents shouldn’t be overlooked.
Digg has put together a nice montage of the many Daily Show correspondents who have gone on to do great things. It’s easy to overlook Steve Carell’s tenure on the cast, if only because so many great correspondents followed him. Take a look back at the Daily Show debut of fixtures like Wyatt Cenac, Samantha Bee, Josh Gad, Michael Che, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Che, Rob Coddry, Ed Helms, John Oliver, Mo Rocca, Rob Riggle, Demetri Martin, Olivia Munn, John Hodgman, Larry Wilmore, and an obscure entertainer by the name of Stephen Colbert.
