Bloc Party announce new tour dates

When Bloc Party released Silent Alarm back in 2005, the title’s subtle foreshadowing was probably not intentional. The album roused applause from the critics and led to sold out tours. NME voted it Album of the Year, after which it went platinum. Two more albums followed, but then…silence.

Bloc Party has been on hiatus (or maybe broken up) since 2009, but reemerged to announce a 2012 release earlier this year. Four—which the band says "doesn't sound like anyone else on the planet"—will be available from Frenchkiss Records on August 21. The band had officially decreed that it wouldn't be playing live for a while, but after a few sold-out shows, it seems like the members want back in the game. Besides adding a number of festival appearances, the band has just announced the below dates for a fall tour. Members of the Bloc Party fan club can reserve tickets and pre-order Four now. Tickets go on sale to the general public June 29.
