Blur to release audio of Sunday night's Hyde Park show, maybe its last show ever
After a Sunday night performance tied to the closing ceremonies of the London Olympic Games, Blur will release a complete recording of the show via iTunes. The show—which may be Blur’s last—will hit the Internet Monday, to be followed a week later by a two-disc set, cheekily titled Parklive, that will include both the Sunday night Hyde Park show and unreleased live tracks from some of the band’s other recent shows.
In November an even more deluxe version of Parklive will be released, a five-disc set containing three CDs of audio from the Hyde Park show, a DVD of said show, and a CD featuring a live recording of the band at London's The 100 Club. That set will also come packaged with a hardback book containing 60 pages of photographs from both the Hyde Park and 100 Club shows. It's priced at about $70 (available for pre-order now), and isn’t a bad way to end a long career.
