Bob Dylan announces new album and tour

Bob Dylan has just announced a follow-up to Shadows In The Night, his album of Sinatra standards, as well as a supporting tour with U.S. dates featuring Mavis Staples alongside the Tempest singer. According to Rolling Stone, Dylan will hit the road on another leg (or two) of his Never Ending Tour next month, beginning with a two-week trek through Japan’s concert halls. Dylan will then kick off his American dates in Washington, and wrap things up mid-July in New Hampshire.

There aren’t many details available on Fallen Angels, Dylan’s LP in progress that’s rumored to be another album of standards, but Ultimate Classic Rock reports that the album will drop May 20, just days before the legendary musician’s 75th birthday. Ticket info is available on Dylan’s official site, and the complete list of tour dates is below. Be sure to check the fine print, because most purchases will include a redemption code for a Fallen Angels CD, a vanishing medium we’ve eulogized elsewhere on The A.V. Club today.
