Bob Dylan upset about upcoming Edie Sedgwick biopic
Apparently Bob Dylan doesn't appreciate being blamed for an (assumed) ex-flame's drug addiction and suicide. Dylan's lawyers have sent a letter to the producers of the upcoming Edie Sedgwick flick Factory Girl demanding to see the movie in advance to determine whether the film defames their client, The New York Post reports. The movie depicts a character called Danny Quinn (played by Hayden Christensen) who dumps Sedgwick and sends her into a tragic decline. Quinn supposedly is a composite of Dylan, Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger, but he wears a harmonica brace and cap that you never saw on The Lizard King or The Glimmer Twin. "Until we are given an opportunity to view the film, we hereby demand that all distribution and screenings . . . immediately be ceased." The Weinstein Company, which is releasing the picture Dec. 27, had no comment. Neither did producer Bob Yari or screenwriter Aaron Richard Golub.
